Tags And Categories
ZeFiR has written:
Noxster, сделай категории в системе. Теги это еще не всё...
That means:
Noxster, add categories please, tagging is not enough...
In reply, I’ll tell you about my tagging concept. When you use Nouz, tags themselves are categories, i.e. they should represent note’s topics, not contents.
Let’s say you write the first note in your blog. For example,
ZeFiR’s greeting message :)
.приветствие .hello_world .блог
OK, I’ll try to translate this :)
Podcasting—No! Blogging—Yes!
Yes? At last I start my new blog, and I’ll not give it up at least because of... eh... what to say?
Well, let’s consider this as the first post or something like.
Tags:
.greetings .hello_world .blog
“Greetings” and “hello_world” tags, I suppose, won’t be used in the future. So they can be easily removed, the “blog” tag is absolutely enough.
This tagging concept allows you create a beautiful and useful tag cloud which will make the navigation easier.
Listening to/Now playing, mood
Another ZeFiR’s feedback:
И еще думаю, где привычные для жж mood и listening to или что-то в этом роде.
Which means:
And I miss LJ’s usual Listening to and Mood.
In my opinion, these features are unnecesary: the author should be able to express his or her mood in the text. And why not write something about the current music (not only the track name)? And are you sure the public needs to know what you are listening to now?
So I think that such tools are deterious for the blog notes. By the way, that’s the second reason why I dislike graphic smilies and hate animated ones (the first is aesthetics).
